The Inaugural Michigan Heritage Rodeo:
A Salute to Cowgirls and Cowboys of Color
We are excited to invite you to join us for this very special event, taking place on September 19 & 20, 2025, at the Michigan State University Livestock Pavilion in Lansing, Michigan. This event celebrates the rich rodeo traditions of our community while providing a fun, educational, cultural, and family-friendly experience.
Youth & Parent Information Guide (Please Read in Full)
We are excited to welcome you and your child to this year’s Michigan Heritage Rodeo Youth Experience! This special opportunity is designed to inspire, educate, and entertain while celebrating rodeo culture and community.
✅ What to Expect
Arrival & Check-In:
Youth should arrive between 5:00–5:30 PM on Friday, September 19th at the front entrance of the MSU Pavilion.
A sign-in table will be available, please allow a few extra minutes if you have not pre-registered online. All youth will receive a blue wristband.
Buckaroo Zone (Youth Activity Area):
A fun, interactive space for students with games, activities, and learning stations.
Supervised by educators and trained volunteers.
Youth will be able to eat: Fried Chicken Sandwiches from Chick Fil A, Spaghetti, and other sides. There will also be food options available for kids who are allergic to peanuts, vegetarian, etc.
Rodeo Experience:
The main rodeo begins at 7:00 PM.
Students will have the chance to see live rodeo action, meet riders, and learn about the culture and history behind the event.
Departure:
The rodeo ends around 9:00 PM. Parents may pick up students between 9:00–9:30 PM.
Bus transportation will be available for groups that arranged it in advance.
🎒 What to Bring
Comfortable clothes and shoes (some activities are outdoors).
A light jacket (evenings may be cool).
A great attitude and readiness to have fun!
🚍 Transportation
Group transportation (buses) is available in Lot 205
Parents providing their own transportation should follow signage and park in Lot 203
💡 Additional Notes
The event is free for registered youth participants.
Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase at the concession areas.
Parents are welcome to attend the rodeo and can purchase general admission tickets at the entrance.
