This proposal outlines four initiatives designed to empower Lansing youth, foster economic growth, and celebrate cultural heritage.

Total Request: $66,215

1. Pitch Competitions (3 Events)

Request: $30,000

  • Three youth/adult pitch competitions: June, August, October
  • $10,000 per event: prizes, coaches, logistics, marketing
  • Promotes youth entrepreneurship and innovation

2. 2025 Summer Week of Entrepreneurship

Request: $6,815

  • 5-day intensive for 12 youth
  • Includes instructors, food, transportation, service project, and guest speakers
  • Teaches life skills, design, and leadership

3. Michigan Heritage Rodeo

Request: $29,400

  • Two turnkey rodeo events
  • Venue costs + cultural showcase
  • Celebrates diversity, history, and boosts local tourism

4. Summer Internships for High School Students

Request: Support from CAMW (No City Funds Needed)

  • Two youth paid internships
  • Funding through CAMW at $13/hr
  • Workforce exposure and mentorship experience
